Financial Information

The course has been allocated 17 places by the TDA. To be on this course you must therefore be eligible for a TDA funded place. TDA funding is normally available for all trainees who are eligible for government support, such as fees, the new maintenance grant and a student loan, whether you actually choose to take up that support or not. A new website - Student Finance England has been launched and applications for government support can be made through this.
You might find it helpful to check your eligibility on the Course Funding pages of the TDA website. The full regulations regarding 'home' and EU trainees can be found in the Education Support Regulations 2008.

Those eligible for TDA funding should also be eligible for the following support:-

  • Tuition Fee Loan
  • The Maintenance Grant
  • TDA Bursary
  • Student Loan (for maintenance)
  • Access to Learning Fund

Tuition Fees:

  • NTTP Course fees from September 2012 have yet to be confirmed.
  • Our HEI code is ABYK

Make sure you state NTTP as your course provider and NOT University of Bedfordshire.

This will delay your Student Loan.

Further Information:

Once you have been offered a place on the course, please follow the Step-by-Step Guide to applying for financial Support (below).

STEP-BY-STEP GUIDE TO APPLYING FOR FINANCIAL SUPPORT

STEP 1

You should start thinking about applying for financial help as soon as you have applied for a place on a course.  You can check what help you might be entitled to by visiting the on-line calculator at www.studentfinance.direct.gov.uk.

Do not wait until you have a confirmed place on a course before applying – quote the course that you think you are most likely to attend.

Your application will generally take 6-8 weeks to process.

STEP 2

You can apply on-line at www.studentfinance.direct.gov.uk.  The website will have information about what date the on-line service will be available.  You can also apply by contacting the Student Loans Company. Paper application forms are available from March each year.

STEP 3

Fill in your application form.

You can get further information about student loans in the guide ‘Student Loans – A guide to terms and conditions’ which you can download from the Student finance forms and guides section on the Direct.gov.uk website.  You can also get a copy from your LA (or from the SLC).

STEP 4

Return your application form.

Make sure you send all the information you are asked for when you return your application.

If you decide to take out a student loan, make sure you provide your National Insurance number.  If you do not provide your National Insurance number, or you provide an incorrect one, your loan instalments may not be paid.

To guarantee you get a payment at the start of the first term of your course, make sure you and your family fill in and return your application form by the relevant deadline.

If you miss the deadline, there is no guarantee that you will receive a payment at the start of term.
